Church is awesome today. Ps Wenan preach about authentic servant-hood. I just sum up all the things that have been preach.
Mark 10:45 (NIV) For even the Son of Man did not come to be served, but to serve, and to give his life as a ransom for many.
Hallmark of a mature christian is a growing attitude of Christ like servant-hood. It is available because of the example that Jesus has set. We serve because Christ first served. We must adopting Christ's example to serve out of love.
1 John 3:16 (NIV) This is how we know what love is: Jesus Christ laid down his life for us. And we ought to lay down our life for us. And ought to lay down our lives for our brothers.
Serve not out of obligation but obedience to the Father's love. We must serve out of humility.
Philippians 2:5-8 (NIV) Your attitude should be the same as that of Christ Jesus: Who, being in very nature God, did not consider equality with God something to be grasped, but mad himself nothing taking the very nature of a servant, being made in human likeness. And being found in appearance as a man, he humbled himself and became obedient to death.
His epitome of humility caused Him to be our servant King. The world tells us the way up is to go up first, Christ tells us the way up is to go down first.
Philippians 2:9-11 (NIV) Therefore God exalted him to the highest place and gave him the same that is above every name, that at the same of Jesus every knee should bow, in heaven and on earth and under the earth, and every tongue confess that Jesus Christ is Lord, to the glory of God the Father.
Actualise through us, we are called to serve, we do not want to talk the talk , we want to walk the walk. we serve God and one another. All of us are minister unto God.
Galatians 5:13 (NIV) You, my brothers, were called to be free. But do not use your freedom to indulge the sinful nature, rather, serve one another in live.
It was for freedom that Christ has set is free and this freedom is now within us to make a choice.
